Full Story

We are excited to announce the successful integration of Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) with xCall, which is now operational on the Archway blockchain. This marks the first in a series of integrations with Cosmos chains, adding to the burgeoning ecosystem of xCall-connected chains.

This integration is a significant milestone for the ICON Foundation. With the cross-chain messaging solution now active, the process of enabling it on additional Cosmos chains is substantially expedited, paving the way for a rapid expansion of xCall-connected Cosmos blockchains in the near future. Furthermore, this initial integration capitalizes on the robust security infrastructure of Cosmos' native interoperability protocol, establishing xCall as a comprehensive multi-protocol solution. To keep up with xCall’s ongoing development be sure to check the integrations page regularly.

But what exactly is xCall? At its core, xCall is a service that streamlines the cross-chain development experience by harmonizing messaging across interoperability protocols like IBC and LayerZero. This harmonization of the cross-chain messaging format across various protocols empowers developers to deploy across these platforms with ease and minimal cost. Moreover, developers gain access to a wealth of features, including innovative cross-chain dApp design and top-tier security measures, making xCall a compelling solution for cross-chain development:

  • Familiarity regardless of which interoperable protocol or chain you are working with, using xCall’s standardized messaging procedure.

  • A wealth of customizable security options can be built into your product by opting into our Central Relay.

  • Aggregate your message’s security across multiple protocols at once, with Multi-Protocol Verification.

While Archway is our first Cosmos blockchain integration, we are working towards extending our reach to more IBC chains. Follow our progress here and stay tuned for more updates!
